RIKEM  81 Special Antiscalant for silica

Rikem 81 antiscalent chemical offers superior quality performance characteristics over a wide range of application. The antiscalent chemical used to eliminate scale in the water.
The Rikem 81 antiscalent for silica has been certified by the National sanitation foundation (NSF) under standards for use in producing portable water systems.

Chemistry

 Rikem 81 is a Blend of Phosphonates and carboxylate to optimize the anti-scale performance.

Actions

  • Solubility enhancement: Solubility enhancement by threshold effect, which reduces precipitation of low solubility inorganic salts (Alkaline carbonate & sulphates and silica in particular).
  • Bulk crystallization: Crystal modification, which deforms the growing inorganic salt crystal to give small, irregular, readily fractured crystals that do not adhere well to surfaces and can be easily removed during cleaning operations.
  • Surface agglomeration: Dispersing activity, which prevents precipitated crystals or other inorganic particles from agglomerating and depositing on surfaces.

Features

RIKEM 81 is a Multi functional scale inhibitor as it is effective to inhibit precipitation of calcium carbonate, calcium oxalate, calcium sulfate, barium sulfate, silica and other low solubility salts. These chemicals specially design for Feed water where silica scale major concern, RIKEM 81 works up to 150 ppm at reject side.

  Applications

  • Industrial water treatment:
  • Scale inhibition in RO systems (Silica,CaCO3,CaSO4, scale in particular).
  • Complete water analysis required for accurate dosage projection. Suggested dose rate is 2 to 8 ppm.

Benefits and Advantages

Show good anti-scaling efficiency at low dosage over a wide range of pH, water hardness and temperature conditions. Show a higher degree of solubility in presence of Ca + than other higher molecular weight homopolymers. Offer a strong dispersant activity.

 Storage recommendations

Freezing or long term cold storage of RIKEM 81 may cause some separation of the components. Although product performance is not impaired as long as the whole container is heated and well mixed, it is recommended to keep RIKEM 81 from freezing.
